More Than a Fundraiser.

The Village Ball is a collective commitment to protect the stories, values, and future of Akronites across generations.

The Akron Rites of Passage Initiative (AROPI) and The Legacy Building Project invite you to The Village Ball — an evening rooted in community, culture, and continuity. This gathering honors those who serve, those who preserve, and those who dare to build something that will outlast them.

Proceeds directly support The Legacy Building Project — a 25,000 sq. ft. African American Cultural Center and Museum Complex that will restore community identity, honor Akron's Black history, and create pathways for education, entrepreneurship, and generational wealth.

This Year's Program Includes
Marcus Garvey, Sojourner Truth & John Brown Hero & Shero Awards
